The Knights of Columbus (K of C) is a global Catholic fraternal service order. Membership is composed of practicing Catholic men. The organization was founded in 1882 as a mutual benefit society for working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States. Our Lady of Guadalupe Society is a religious association organized by Mexican American Catholic women to provide leadership in social concerns and perform works of charity. The organization’s name derives from Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas.
